The Voice of Piano -
from Debussy
to Doors

The Voice of Piano will be released as a double CD in June 2024 on the Prospero Classical label. The release concert is on June 30, 2024 at the Orangerie Theater, Volksgartenstraße 25, 50677 Cologne. 

It is a musical journey through time through songs, chansons and songs from Bach to Poulenc. Arrangements for piano from Williams through Godowski to Volodos and Winkler.

The sung song as the foundation and cradle of music has always attracted and fascinated me. I have put together my favourite and most poignant works to create a journey through time and moods. Many wonderful arrangements were already available. Godowski arranged Strauss songs for piano in his unique style. Arcadi Volodos composed a fantasy on Mompou’s most beautiful song from “Combat del Somni”. Adreas Winkler, my partner in crime for this piano recital, a Cologne composer and lecturer at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, congenially arranged the songs by Mahler, Debussy and Maria Tănase for me.
